GRACE SAN ANDRES
Born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Grace San Andres has been immersed in music from a young age. She began piano lessons at age eight and soon discovered her passion for jazz vocals. Grace went on to study in the Applied Music Jazz Diploma Program at Mohawk College, graduating with honours.
During her studies, Grace trained with some of Ontario’s most respected musicians, including Bob Hamper, Mim Adams, Shannon Butcher, and Sophia Perlman, and performed under the direction of Carol McCartney, Pat Collins, Bob Shields, and Darcy Hepner. She has performed in a wide range of ensembles such as The Polyesther Jazz Quintet, The Fred Butler Septet, Mohawk College’s Tower of Power Ensemble, Mohawk College Jazz Choir, and Rob & The Rydells.
Grace currently leads The Grace San Andres Quartet, a group formed organically in 2018 when the members met while working as music teachers at Long & McQuade in Woodstock. What began as a wedding booking quickly grew into a long-standing collaboration. Since then, the quartet has become a sought-after act in Southwestern Ontario, performing at festivals, weddings, restaurants, markets, and private events, with a strong reputation for professionalism and crowd connection.
